Run initiative from the web
Plenty of apps hold a character sheet. Almost none give the Dungeon Master a screen that the whole table actually moves with.
Wizards Codex is a tabletop RPG companion: players build and play on their phones; you run the bits that need room — initiative, combat, live session notes — at app.wizardscodex.com. It is included in the same subscription. Nothing to “buy twice”.
What you see on the DM web screen
- Initiative and combat — turns, HP and conditions for the encounter, on one screen.
- Session notes — NPCs, secrets and the thread of the session in front of you while you run.
- The same campaign as the phones — when HP or a roll changes, it is not a screenshot you have to shout across the table.
Players still get full sheets, a spellbook, inventory, dice and trackers in the mobile app. You are not swapping one mess of PDFs for another.
Honest limits
We support D&D 5E (2014 and 2024) and Roll for Shoes today. More systems are on the way; we do not pretend Pathfinder is live.
The web app is for running the game. Upgrading still happens in the mobile app (App Store / Play). Open the web app to run the table, not to check out.
Try it
Open the DM web app or get the app if your party is still on paper and group chats.
